Koen and Christina in front of the best Vietnamese sandwich restaurant in Chinatown!
On Saturday, we planned our day around visiting the Guggenheim Museum. Because we were trying to save money, we visited the MOMA on Friday, because entrance is free between 4 – 8PM and the Guggenheim on Saturday between 5:45 – 7:45PM, because you are able to pay what you want. Christina was also off from work, so she took us to her favorite Banh Mi restaurant for lunch, then to a Nike exhibit she worked on in the Meatpacking District, followed by a tour of the Chelsea Market, and then to a Belgian restaurant for biertjes and frietjes.

Special Nike Exhibit for NY Fashion Week – debuting Nike’s new running shoe
The Nike exhibit – we walked barefoot on different surface while our brainwaves were being read to see how we responded to touching grass, rocks, etc!

So many Belgian beers, home away from home!
Enjoying the company, sun, beer, and fries!
Koen took Hennepin, the only beer he didn’t recognize on the menu – and it turned out to be an American beer that is made in the Belgian style

One more photo of the building – so beautiful!
You aren’t supposed to take photos inside, but I was able to take one quickly of the James Turrell exhibit – it was mesmerizing the way the colors kept changing. I could’ve laid down and watched it for hours. If you’re interested you should google “James Turrell Guggenheim” for more photos!
For dinner Christina made us sukiyaki, a Japanese soup dish! And I accidentally bought Chinese beer to drink with dinner, haha.
